Whoopdy Shnit... Sure, it's nicely done, but the guy describes it like it's brain surgery.  $250 for a base bid?  No thanks.  I've already done two, and have one more on the bench.

I like the way he closes the description by holding a gun to its head.  Reminds me of the old National Lampoon ad "Buy this magazine, or we'll shoot this dog"

I saw those at the last Timonium show I went to. The actual product in the package didn't look anywhere near as good as the photo on the site, and that doesn't look that great either.

"than it is to keep paying listing fees in the hopes someone will buy it"

Sure, I would hate to keep paying listing fees on a $250 opening bid too. ::)

Maybe it's the angle of the photo but the chopped nose looks a little too tall to me for some reason.

I should chop the nose on a Geep for my MEC roster -- too many projects -- too little time.

It probably is... He said he used an LED for the nose light...  Bigger than a grain of rice bub.  A fiber-optic rig would probably be best.

There isn't much room to work with over the gear tower.

Man if every conversion was $250 we'd all be millionaires.

I wonder how much this would get on the Bay... custom mixed polycarb paint, custom decals of and an accurate pIII GP9 carbody. I really need to add that brake ratchet.

On the other hand, this engine took me 2 years to complete at a cost of nearly $300:

Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

If he gets $250 I should at least pull $500. And yes those number boards have lenses!

I did this about ten years ago since then I've picked up about 7 more "nines" to chop using the lessons learned from this one. It'll probably be leaving the fleet as the others get completed. Maybe I'll sell it on the Bay...HAHA!

Nicely done!  Heck, mine are real hatchet jobs compared to that!

Thanks Lee! Unfortunately I'm not 100% happy with it. I overdid the pilots - to much hacking. The chop job looks good on the outside but underneathe the hood it's not as clean...I'm a stickler for quality work.

Currently working on a B&O Business car, but after that I have a Conrail Atlas GP-7 thats going to end up as the only remaining high hood on the road - chopped in '71.

What road number is that?  I've never seen that referenced!
