Are those down for good? They look a little "tacked on".

Agreed.  I need to find a way to inset them into the shroud, rather than just gluing on top.  I think that's a problem with all installations of these, and not really a Proto problem though.  I think that's part of the reason the whole assembly looks tall to my eye also.

Anyway, like I said it's in progress, but comments are welcome.

No sight glass or am I blind? (which is possible). Cut a hole, Skibbe or I'll kick your a$$!

Well crap. If you're gonna go ahead and make that thing look that good, you should go back and break out the files again.

File down the exhaust stacks and correct the angle of the air filter box. Also wouldn't hurt to add the access door on the left side of the air filter box as well. I still can't believe LL screwed this much up on this damn thing...

And the photo you posted has orange gaskets around the number boards and a green nose headlight.

I never did find a photo of 2373, so I looked through all the photos, got a feel for the series, and just started playing. Good call on the stacks, that's worth doing.  After ditchlights and some touch up, I'm thinking it will be layout ready and worth the money.

Check the green cab roof too. I think that was pretty common on most BNSF units. Don't hold me to that one...

You lazy a$$... :)

It is still nice to see what a little bit of work and weathering can do for a given model.

...but Skibbe, I really like the detail you did ad to the antenna (what is it, is it a coax cable or a tube with the antenna cable in it ?) really nice detail.

And apparently just on this unit, which figures.  It's also on a fancy stand compared to the one behind it.  And who says modern modeling is boring... ???
