The first two this week were taken at Edaville Park, Carver, MA, in August 1961 and the third was taken at Bush Terminal on March 3, 1956.

BRT 4550 was earlier photographed as a sand car in the car barn in Brooklyn. She looks much better restored.


Not, positive, but believe this was one of the two freight motors at Ponemah Mills, Norwalk, CT. The other was "Black Maria", the first electric freight locomotive.


BRT flatbed work motor 9980 in the South Brooklyn Rwy. yard at Bush Terminal in Brooklyn, NY.


Next week, a very rare international streetcar line, El Paso City Lines, which operated in both El Paso, TX, and Ciudad Juarex, México.

I did manage to shoot things other than derailed centerbeams on Sunday...

112 before the derailment scene:


112 after running around the train and dragging it back onto the Lurgan:


242 dragging the remainder of the derailed train down the Lurgan to be mended with the head-end cars that stayed on the rails, first on the old Reading bridge:

Very cool to see a straight SD40 in mainline service on NS, what with their uncontrollable Douche-9 fetish. Even cooler to see some uncommon foreign stuff leading on the Buffalo Line:












33A was also pleasantly devoid of Douche-9s:


All in all, not a bad day. The railfan gods do reward you for sweltering your balls off in near triple-digit temperatures.

I have to agree with Sean on this one.


3rdRail- One of those BRT trolleys similer to 4550 currently resides at the M&H Railroad near here. I'll have to get a pic for you next time I'm there. It's in ok shape, but all the electric components are gone as it was on display for some time before moving to Middletown

Sean, sorry for this one but your pics put me in mind of this one I
caught at Sterling a couple months ago:



A fairly unusual sight there-2 NS units & a CSX 3rd unit on the Q640 out
of Cumberland, MD on the way to Buffalo, NY via Cleveland. Quite the oxymoron
with that B&O position light (soon to fall sadly) & a far cry from the B&O units
George Elwood (Mr. Fallen Flags) shot here over 40 years ago.

Also caught this LTEX SW1500 on an eastbound late last month-possibly on it's way
back to LTEX in McDonald, Ohio. (photo isn't the best due to being caught by surprise,
& the train's 50+MPH speed.)
