Hey, what's the word on the LifeLike Proto Whatever GP38-2 for CR?

Any good?  DCC issues?  Correct?

Fans aren't the hottest (BLMA) and its missing the sight glass (BLMA). however all the other detail is crisp & accurate, and it runs like an Atlas.

As for being Conrail specific the only major thing I've noticed is the fuel tank is too large on the lifelike model...

Forgot to mention that the Life like is a late GP38-2. (around 1978)

Here's some more goodness

Spectrum SD45? Don't waste your time bro.

Talk about screwups! Were it a real Diesel, the traction motors would all burn up in the Bachmann SD45 as they forgot the blower duct that ran under the fireman's side running board! Rather a noticeable feature, too.

I'm just happy to see those 38-2s running again. I was almost certain I'd have to put new decoders in em, but Dr.Weldon's intensive psychotherapy saved the day.

And yeah Dave, we better see you up here this summer before you go out west!

The current run of the Bachmann SD45's have the blower duct. Generally, these are the second road numbers offered. e.g. PRR 6116 (first run was 6115, I believe). Everything else remains as with the first run. Mine runs fine, and I can live with it, especially since I'm going to do a CR patch job with it.

Never mind the massive gap between the trucks and the sill ... the oddly shaped radiator flares, and so on ...

As for PC, there was plenty of PC equipment rolling around in the era I model, so naturally I have PC rolling stock. 8)
