Well, it looks like Gregg ran out of street cars...  I guess since everyone else set their whole calendar ahead, I'll wade in with the first salvo.

I shot these a couple years ago at the B&O Museum in Baltimore.  While I was there working on an article, some punks got a hold of the hand brakes on the passenger set, and sent it rolling across the asphalt parking lot. 



It ended up rolling into a curb to a stop, but not before destroying the fence, and nearly smashing a subcompact!







This is probably as far as these things had moved in a decade!

Some more from the North Shore Line:

In addition to the Chicago-Milwaukee main line, the CNS&M had a branch to Libertyville and Mundelein. Here coach 749 running as a single car Libertyville Local, prepares to depart Lake Bluff, IL.


After World War II, North Shore attempted to "modernize" its cars by adding skirts, cast logos, and faux corrugated stainless steel sides that were just painted on. The red and silver looked good, though. Car 765 is at the South Milwaukee shops.


The ultimate in the American interurban experience, an Electroliner in full cry on a catenary equipped double track main line. The motorman has the speedometer above 80 while the attendant is pouring beer and cooking Electroburgers in the mid-train lounge. Best part, there were passenger seats behind two of the three front windows!


We'll still be riding the North Shore next week.

We do not have to switch Ciment Quebec today, so their little loco switches some cars though their unloading process.









The boss man is running today....yes we are really going 6MPH...we're on Pan Am track, thats why!

Very, very, interesting...All trainsets are equipped with North American style Janney couplers? So, Brits can use MTL couplers!

Most of the EMUs and DMUs have knuckle couplers, however there are several noncompatible designs, some of which look like MT ones some don't.
