Howdy Everyone,

Here's some stuff to talk about for the Amhearst Show. Sorry I can't make it this year, but fliers will be at the DPH table. Thanks for your continued support.

Best regards,

Matt

SSW yet the car has "Cotton Belt" in big letters on it. Wassup?

This is out of my era and geographic location, just curious.

The St. Louis~Southwestern Railway (SSW) went by the nickname "Cotton Belt" for a century or more, like the New York, Chicago & St. Louis was better known as the "Nickel Plate Road".

Hi everyone!

Good news :) , because I was to late for the last SP ones. But now I just placed my order for the SP Boxcars at Feather River Trains. Early enough I hope  ;D

Can I get some input from an Espee man on whether those  cars are good for me, in that scheme, in 85?

Reserving
4-SP (599 proto cars) and 3-SSW (399 proto cars) for my own 1985 layout.  Not certain if I qualify as an expert Espee man and will defer to greater knowledge, but these are excellent cars that look the part of a SP lumber box to me.  As long as these keep coming, they will continue to displace MDC stand ins.

Built 1973 I would expect to find it in the original paint (or what was left of it) to still be there in 1985...

Of course its still not a PC&F, those could bankrupt me...

Ah hah, that makes sense. Of course this is from someone who always thought it was the Nickle Rate Road for years  :-\

Guess I'll just stick with roads I know at least a bit about.

They've got wheel dots, so they're definately post 03/31/1978...

Does this imply that the series was built post 3/78, or the scheme depicted is post 3/78?
