Hi Bob,
I must say you make some really great looking stuff. I like your tank car unloading platform and will probably use it. I'm sending you a photo of the one I'm modeling at Searsport maine.  The platform and railings look pretty much the same but the supporting structure under it is different. I'm building a loading rack 14 cars long for 8,000 gallon IM and 10,000 gallon MT cars. Any thoughts on it, would like to model the piping above it also. I also will have a unloading rack at the papermill but I think I would use your standard rack there. Central Vermont and I will be at the Springfield show so if your there we'll stop by and see you and all your goodies.

Hey John,

That's a neat loading platform too. It looks like the walkways I made for the sanding towers and engine service kit. Just shorter in height.

Another thought, use could use the scratchbuilding walkways and the stairs from last month and drill holes in the walkway. Then use tubing for the supports. I think I have some grating that could be used as the ramps to the tankcars to finish it off. Overhead pipes are easy as is the delivery pipes (just use wire).

Can't wait to see you guys.

Thanks Bob,
Checked out the walkway, would probably work. Maybe could also use your standard tannkcar unloading platform without your legs and drill a hole in it like you said and use tubing for supports. I have a photo taken of it much later and they added light poles to the existing tubing supports. Would be cool to do that and put some fiber optic lights on it to light that thing up!! The photo posted was from 1952 mag article.
