Took these photos of Bi-State Transit Authority (St. Louis) PCC's on April 18, 1964, while being transferred from New Orleans to Cleveland by the PRR. Got into St. Louis in the AM on the IC, left late afternoon on the PRR for Pittsburgh.

PCC 1606 on the Delmar line stops to pick up a passenger from a mid-street carstop.

PCC's 1613 and 1795 photographed from the rear wait on the loop at the end of the Hodiamont line.

PCC's 1617 and 1795, also at the end of the Hodiamont line:

PCC 1622 at 14th and Olive St. in downtown St. Louis on the University line.

Next week, more St. Louis.

After showing CR and N&W it's time to bring out the kitty pix.  Cover your eyes Lee.  For some reason the scan for this one turned out horrible but it looks like the blue & gold team is about to have their way with Wild Mary at Walbridge.

The circus wagon scheme didn't look too bad with some weathering.

Then again it did not look too good when clean and worn by a classic locomotive style

Gotta find some more of my old photos as I'm running short.  Did find some Soo line locos in, of all places, Jacksonville, Fl in I believe 1977 or 8.  Runthrus I guess.  These are slides so I'll have to wait till I find somemore and get them processed.  Glad you like them.  Sure do bring back some memories.

Delano, Jack,, 1914-, photographer.

Retiring a locomotive driver wheel in the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe railway locomotive shops, Shopton, near Fort Madison, Iowa. The tire is heated by means of gas until it can be slipped over the wheel. Contraction on cooling will hold it firmly in place. Santa Fe R.R.
