I've coming to the realization that those guys at Kato must be smoking something. But just what is it? I mean, there's been what, less than 7 different railroads painted on the newest iteration of the SD40-2? And how many roads have owned it?   ???  :P

I guess I'm living in a dream world, expecting Kato to recognize anything rail-related east of, say, Chicago.

I daresay that's probably what happened with their GG1/Broadway Limited announcement that flashed but briefly on the radar...

"What?  Santa Fe didn't have GG1s?  Well, forget it, then!  Who ever heard of the Pennser... uh, Pennlyvse...  uh, whatever that road is we did the really good running but bad-colored E8 for!"

Nothing runs like a Kato, so I love 'em...  But I sure wish they'd wake up to the eastern states!

Well I cant really pre-order those UP NW-2's till I know for a fact that the prototype picture they show with " Road of the Streamliners / Serves all the West " is in fact the scheme they will be lettered with .

I asked them in an eMail ..... see if I get a reply .

I gotta say Kato (though they can do no wrong) keep missing a really obvious scheme for the mid-pro SD40-2. Ever heard of Illinois Central? If they keep beating that dead horse BNSF, they're gonna get pulp...

Do a freakin' IC mid-pro SD40-2... and an SD75I already!
