I can't help but notice that these will be sold with and without all the "bells and whistles". Can they actually have been listening at Athearn and Horizon??

Wonder if they'll do the same when they get to the FEF3?

I have no idea why this is, but the HO Scale FEF's were only available with DCC and Sound. Same with the Challengers and Big Boys. HO Scale Genesis diesel locos come in both analog and  DCC/Sound. No, I don't think they listening.

This is good news.  Even though I model the PRR, I've always had a love affair with the F and FP45's.  Maybe a couple of the Big Sky Blues can do a demo turn on the Curve.

Yeah, I think I'll wait 'til the second run.  No doubt we'll see MILW in orange/black.  I also want to wait to see what people think of the sound.

If I were interested in these it would definately be see before I buy.

Offering Undecorated is progress. Perhaps Athearn will begin taking N scale seriously with these.

(I love the Mack trucks though!)

Woot!
Sound will get a fair test with this model.  Body is big enough for a hefty speaker and still pull well.  I'm unusually stoked for this release.  I'm not going to be blinded to faults, but undecorated may make minor errors slightly more tolerable...

Almost a hundred dollars difference for the decoder? No NYS&W, but looks like a good choice of paint schemes in the first run. Hope they get it right. Frank

I'm wondering if there using the same sound from the MRC C44-9CW/SD70MAC decoder? (Since its an SD45 Sound and Athearn uses MRC)
