Today we have two steam locomotives dead at York, PA, on the Ma & Pa, taken in 1966. Also, a shot from the train taken in México in my honeymoon in 1962.

BEDT 14 has been equipped with air brakes since leaving Brooklyn:

CPR 972, a handsome Ten-Wheeler

There is some mighty rugged country between the coast and Veracruz and Mexico City ans 700 ft. above sea level. This was taken from the train that  ran via Jalapa.

Next week, some brand new cars on the CTA - 43 years ago.

A classic retro shot from way back (for me at least) of a CN train racing home for Christmas in 2000.

Here are some really clean cats just to make Lee go ballistic:

And one clean kitten:

These are the cleanest Chessie units I've ever seen.

The only way those things get clean is if they lick themselves...
Is the second shot at Shenandoah Jct?  It looks mighty familiar...

Lee.  The answer is yes.  Signal on N&W was green and my friends and I were waiting to see what was coming.  4 hours later still no train but did get to see some action on the B&O.  Far as I know that damn signal is still green.

Here's one taken in the spring of 83 near the same spot.  Note the actual B&O GP35...  There were lots of times that signal made me late for my classes at Shepherd...  I lived in Charles Town and would drive to school by way of the Jct.

There's the offending signal now!  Only this time it wasn't kidding...

Is 1554 (the trailing unit in the last pic) one of the maroon NW engines?  I can't really tell because the photo is so crappy, but the numbers sure look yellow, and the engine seems a bit on the red side.  Might just be dirt.

No.

SD40-2 6175, GE C30-7s 8010, & 8076-8080 are the only ones (other than the "Redbirds" 500-521 back in the late 50s thru mid 60s)

Interesting that CSX painted the slug unit. Most of the slugs I have seen locally around Baltimore have been ol' GP30s still in ratty grey colors.
