Decided to follow New Hampshire Northcoast a bit on Tuesday as they sent the Rochester shuttle south to clear the line along the way. Shots are of the northbound light engine run from Rochester to Ossipee. I guess you could call this C&E ROOS.

Approaching the Rt 153 Overpass in East Wakefield

Along the Rt. 125 in Milton.

Beginning down grade in Sanbornville.

With another 10" today it should be almost time for them to get out the ballast regulator to clear the line.

CSX GP38-2 #2506 is seen here working the west side of the Jessup, MD, yard on 12/19/07. She is MU'd with an equally ratty looking GP38.

You never know what you will find lurking in the shadows. Here is a Route Rock 48' trailer in captive service on MD's eastern shore.  This can be found right up on the Maryland and Delaware's Seaford-Cambridge Line. After the Rock shutdown, it was bought by the RF&P. I think it may be cursed!

Reader Railroad 2-6-2 No. 11 tangled with a truckload of logs on a mixed train run in 1963. Got photos of the wreck and sent these off to TRAINS. only to find that Rosemary Entringer, the Managing Editor of the mag, was aboard.

Note that the tender was lettered "Louisiana & Arkansas" under the Reader Railroad paint.

Next week, York, PA, and México.

A historical progression today, sort of. Note the stencil below the road number.  "Leased to ABB" for the Akron Barberton Belt.  The N&W did the same thing to the units they sent to the AC&Y after the AC&Y's FM fleet wore out.

The ABB as an "independent" during the early 80's

Passing through Barberton this summer on a fossil hunting expedition. One of those rare occasions when I got lucky and a real train showed up.

The ABB is now the ABC for the Akron Barberton Cluster.  No doubt who owns the road.  Check out the road number.  Still kicking after all these years.

Funny you should post this one, John. I actually went searching for this engine yesterday between appts. It must have been in the yard and I had no interest in going inside the fenced area! I did manage to get a couple shots of Jessup. One is posted above.

They have been working the SW the last week or so .. I work right in the area, so if you see my bright yellow chevy S-10 sitting near the tracks, usually by the rock plant .. stop by ..

Thanks Bob.  I have to change my underpants now...

Here's old faithful.  Let me know if you get tired of seeing the same engine every week...  I don't get out much.

This time we catch 1203 crossing Bucktown Road near the Cambridge-Dorchester County Airport.  That's Brooks Barrel Company in the background, the last surviving slack cooperage in the lower 48.  If you bought a barrel style planter from Home Depot, chances are it was made right here.

I suppose if you have to see the same train day after day, you could do a lot worse than a bright red RS-3!
