LAJ Layout Progress

I started the General Mills Plant:

I need to add more silos and the warehouse-looking buildings, and paint it all and weather.  I'm happy with how the corrugated siding came out: it has enough metallic look to it to look 'real'.  It's just Polyscale aluminum+Undercoat Gray.  When it's done, it'll probably be closer to 3.5 feet long.

I took a lot of liberties with this, and it would have killed me usually, but I'm ok now ;)

Damn, you're good and you're quick!! But, that's a lot larger than the 2.5" by 16" you were proposing.

What you see right now is actually only 2' by 16".  The extra silos and warehouses will make up the rest.  Oh, and thanks. :D

Geez you might really build something this time  ;)  It does look good. How do you get such large structures into the paint booth?

I would be working faster, but the insulated garage door isn't installed yet :)

I hate you just because you own at least 1 CF7 and I don't know enough to make one on my own in N scale!

I'd be working faster but the 1:1 Pan Am keeps causing problems and taking my modeling days away!

Hey guys, there is some confusion...

I didn't start this after I asked my planning question a few hours previous.  I've been working on this since Friday. :)

That's still Pretty Damn Quick! Assuming you ate, slept, went to work at least one day, and helped your wife with the new "rugrat", you sure didn't waste any time!  ;D ;D

My goal is to get a layout in the next GMR, no time to waste.  I would have the benchwork finished by now if the garage door was installed. :)  What's really killing me is the inability to get ME code 70 right hand turnouts.

I MAY have a source for you...

Thanks Ed. Walthers changed their date from next monday to 'unknown', so I'm a little nervous.  The code 70 track is wonderful, and I really want to use it.  I have 18 feet of flex and 5 left turnouts, so I can get started at least...
