Craig,

Are those cabinets solid castings or hollow? I'm curious if they can be opened up, so often I see trackside cabinets with doors ajar or wide open.

And if hollow, are they big enough to put over detection devices?

Nice!   Craig, what are the scale sizes for the Med. & Lg. Trackside Electronics Boxes?  (5x7, 6x8?)

Aren't these brass sections that fold together?

Thanks for the kind words guys!

The Electrical Boxes will be made from injection-molded plastic with considerably more detail than we could do with etchings.  Furthermore, these will most likely come as pre-assembled models in the correct coloring.  If the pricing for assembly doesn't work out, we'll offer these as kits (four walls and one roof shouldn't be too difficult for most).   :)  We'll have additional information soon...

I noticed you switched to pre-assembled with most of your new products. I just cannot believe that people don't want to glue together four walls and a roof.

Outcome Based Model Railroading ...

* How to open the package
* Putting the building on the layout
* Life Like grass mat .. Is it scenery
* Ballast, we don't need no stinking ballast

I ask Santa for the parking bumpers, cattle chutes (barricades), some of the boxes and a few more of your products.

My power of deduction is ramping up... I guess that means they're hollow?

Craig - my vote is for assembled!  Also, you might consider multipacks...

It's a matter of assembling tiny things with aging eyesight... :)

Again, these look fantastic...

Thanks guys!

Our thought on assembled models is based on both primary and secondary market research.  While kit building is still done in the hobby, providing a kit version of any product reduces the potential market to kit builders only.  By offering an assembled model, we can please both builders and collectors (if the quality is there).  As always, our goal is to provide a reasonably priced product of high quality with great value to our customers.

Sirenworks:  Sorry I missed your question...  The answer is yes, they will be hollow, so removing and propping a door open is a possibility.
