I've had lots of emails and exchanges with Jun at Plazajapan and he's a great guy.  I've been encouraging him to keep these coming and I'd keep my conversion kits coming. 

Without him and the Tomytec connection, the Whitcombs would have NEVER happened.  And since KatoUSA got stupid on distribution, he's been the main guy for the Kato parts.   Tomytec is oblivious about the US market, in case you thought Kato was bad.  They are worse.  I've tried corresponding in every way possible with no response.  Jun makes it happen.  It would be nice if they'd deal with a US supply chain, but they won't.  Paypal for the currency conversion and decent mailing is very workable though.

He's earned his rating.  At least 30 of that count is now from me.   I got my last two from him.

He is easilly one of the very best eBay sellers out there. He has always been very quick to respond. The prices are good, and shipping is pretty low. A Chuck of the East! I'm stalking up on the chassis for two reasons. The chassis in my upcoming 44 tonner article sits too high and they are the only source for the micro 12V motor. I think my next projects will be a high rail truck and a 25T switcher. Now all I need is plans for the 25T switcher.

I have a bunch of the old 3V Kato 105's. Is there any good use of those? Finding a place to put the resistor in the Climaxs is a PIA as it is for the 44 tonner. I'm thinking of just getting some more new 105's with the 12V motor instead and abandoning the old ones I have.

I would recommend keeping the old chassis, but using the new PCB and motor. The PCB is has nothing on it, but still transfers power from the wipers to the motor.  A few of the newer 105s I've picked up have more flashing in the trucks than the older ones (molds may be wearing).  So, I've chosen to go with the 12V motor and an older truck for the RS-0.3 posted above.

The older motor and PCB will be used eventually, when I have a project it will fit in.

Seriously.  I'll post photos up on Trainboard and here when I can.

I think I 'finally' may have come up with a reliable way of doing a 25-tonner class.  And it's got sprung pickups.  And decent slow speed.

I'll be building an entirely new frame and chassis for the 25-tonner body, as the wheelbase is different now.  But it's worth it.

I can't believe it works.  And it's not even April 1.
