This was the only steam active in Windsor, Ontario, on August 28, 1957:

CNR 0-6-0 7436 is being put in the roundhouse by the hostler. Quite an unusual turntable bridge, isn't it?

CNR 0-6-0 7436 is parked in her stall and the hostler is off to his next task:

CNR 0-6-0 7499 is still under steam on the ready track, though.

Next week, CNR steam in Montreal a year earlier.

Great shot Lenny.  I was going to save this one for next week but since you showed us an Alco I'll show you one.

As long as we're prowling around the D&H, here's a couple I took back in 1981 or so...

Not bad for the old 126 instamatic...  Taken north of Harrisburg on the east side of the Susquehanna near Fishing Creek.  These were the days when D&H had trackage rights into Enola to "Balance" the system against big bad Conrail.

Lee.  Almost forgot about that.  Remember seeing them in Pot Yard going to and from work at Crystal City.

Bob Bufkin, those pink skies are driving me mad. Here's one of today's with five minutes of work in Camedia, which came with my camera:

A lot better, no? There are programs, like Picasa, you can download free to adjust the color on old photos.

Thanks for the info.  Very old slides converted to CD's.  I'll try to adjust them.

I finally have the scanner set up and working again after the move.  I scanned a bunch of early 80’s N&W the last time home.  First a trip I made this summer, south of my weekday home in GSO, NC

I visited the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer.  Quite a physical plant they’re trying to preserve.

Of course some people can’t keep from looking at the unofficial exhibits.  Some dummy planted a way too big tree against the backdrop.  ;)

The have a large collection of locomotives and freight cars.  I think if I were ever leave N scale I’d do S scale traction. . . . . .   Nah!

I met JustTrainCrazy at the Little Choo Choo Shop across the street from the museum.  Don’t let the name fool you.  Walk past the front room with the large scale toy trains, go down the narrow hallway and into what might be one of the best stocked hobby shops in the SE.  After dropping some dough there Kevin led me to the Salisbury wye just south of Spencer.

We saw 3 trains in about 40 minutes, including these guys headed down the P line (I think that’s what they called it) to Asheville.  It was great to hear those dash 2s growling away, earning their keep.

Afterwards my wife and I went into “downtown” Salisbury.  A charming little town that they’ve done a nice job restoring.  A great homemade ice cream shop on the corner of the main intersection and this beautifully restored SR depot.

All in all a good trip.  If you ever find yourself in the Greensboro/High Point or Charlotte area make the trip down (or up) to Spencer/Salisbury.  About an hour from either place.

Went into Picasa 2 and adjusted the photos best I could.  I normally use Photobucket.  How do you post from Picasa to here?

Go to "link to photo", choose size, copy HTML URL (2nd one) and paste here. That won't work on Atlas though, you have to delete everything up to and including the " before http and everything after jpg including the " and put what's left between bracketed img and /img.
