Well, been here a while but since I am being more active thought I would finally say something.  I have been in N since a teenager but school, marriage, kids and a business took it's toll.  When the kids hit high school got back into it and built a large operating layout in Atlanta,  Retired and sold my business and moved to the Charleston area. Since we don't have basements here I have a frog (finished room over garage) that is 400 sq, managed to fill most of it. I model proto-freelance Southwestern Pennsylvania Railroad in 1955 for operations.

My name is Dave.   I was an HO modeler, now im a N scale modeler.

I do cad and 3d print stuff.   I started out printing for myself....but others liked what I did and said they wanted stuff too....so this is how I make a living now.  Selling Canadian train stuff.

I offer HO and N scale Canadian-centric kits and stuff.   I have a web store at bedarail.com

At the core im a modeler.   I once was in N scale....and im back in the 160 realm again.

I am shy on forums as Ive had bad experiences in the past.

Its been suggested to me that this community has active modelers in it....so Ill give it a go.

Welcome David. Your namedoes sound familiar (don't remember wfrom where though).

I see you posted another thread about offering N scale products. I would suggest to post info about them in the Product Discussion section  (adn add the appropriate scale icon to your post.
See https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=35201.0

You will be able to add photos to your posts.  See the sticky threads in the FAQ section https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?board=41.0 for info on new member limitations, and on how to add photos.  I recommend not uploading photos to the thread but using the Railwire gallery for your photos (for much easier organizing).  the gallery is similar to what you would see on photo hosting sites (like Flicker, or Fotki).

Welcome Dave, I am confident your experience here will be much different from FB or other forums. TRW does have its quirks and inside jokes, but the endless talent and support you will find here is well worth the price of admission.

People here will not shy away from dishing out constructive critisism, and generally speaking our collective modelling is all the better for it. On the flip side, if you hear crickets after showing off something you are particularly proud of, usually that is the highest form of respect.

I was already a fan of your work, I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!

Figured I would say hi real quick. Joined today after getting tired of hearing about The Railwire from other members of Central Ohio N Trak so I figured I would see what it is about. Life long N scaler and 1/8 live steamer as well. Bruce Bryan

Hi, I'm Ron and currently reside in NorCal. I model in n scale, mainly MR, BNSF, CSX and RI - roads you see in the upper midwest and Chicago area, where I was born and raised. Still searching for that key Illinois Central E8 loco so I can build my City of New Orleans and complete a pledge I made to a departed friend. Moved west in 1974 after 3 years in the US Navy. No other railfans in the family (except my 2.5 yo granddaughter), but my wife is tolerant, and "allows" me to command the entire (detached and unheated) garage for my layout and my Miata. I currently have an L shape layout on the back wall (23') and one side wall (8.5'). Keeps me occupied just keeping track clean.

I like the tone on Railwire and plan to spend more time here. Thanks for listening.

I am trying to add a signature and avatar to my profile, but cannot figure out how. Is there a post threshold needed for this?

Welcome Ron.
Looks like you looked in the Admin section, and commented in a thread there.  Earlier in that thread you commented on, there was a link : https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=43673.0 Should be helpful.

Hello to all   I am a retired engineering manager, and professor.  I have been in model railroading since my dad bought us Lionel SuperO and HO trainsets back in the late 1950's.  Both of my grandfathers and an uncle worked on the CNR across Manitoba and Saskatchewan.  We built several layouts, but the favorite is John Armstrong's Granite Gorge and Northern from the "6 Atlas HO layouts" book.  We built this twice.  Then I did HO custom layouts with our children in three homes.  But, we moved to Arizona about 30 years ago (it was going to be a 2 year stay...)- sadly they have not yet invented basements in AZ  So, the trains were fallow for decades.  Finally decided at the suggestion of our son to try N scale.  Sold off all of the HO, then started in with the GGN layout, but added yards and perimeter loops, and storage tracks in the mountains.  It is powered by 8 Arduino microcomputers, Azatrax sensors, servos and a variety of electronics that I build as needed.  I use NCE PowerCab for controlling the layout, later I will set up JMRI.  The layout is lit with LEDs, and has working traffic signals in the town, and LED crossbucks controlled by the Azatrax sensors.  Still working on a lot of little things.  I just bought an Anycubic Photon Mono 2 resin printer, and working on containers for well cars, and cabinets for speakers in the diesels.

I guess it's time for me to reintroduce myself.

My name is Will and I model N scale, I use to be a regular here way back in the day.

It will be great to see some familiar faces and meet new ones.

I'm getting back in the hobby and trying to decide between N-Trak and T-Trak. My plan for a layout with be a proto-lance of a modern Pennsy in the Philadelphia area.

I will  focus on both passenger and freight.

Hello, I'm Dave. I live in Central Mass I've spent the better part of my professional career working on or around railroads. I model New England railroads in N scale in my spare time, and have been involved in the hobby since the early 90's. Though I've been a member here since 2013, I've only recently started posting. My user name is 'model train' without the vowels  :ashat:

Welcome Dave! Coffee is on the stove in the corner.  There's a couple shop cats and a dog laying about for calming purposes, and our better modeling through peer pressure is in full swing.  Glad to have you aboard.

Throw up a layout engineering thread and post in the weekly update.  Looking forward to seeing your work.
