Greetings to all the locoholics!
Im a n scale guy,been at it for about one and a half years.
I have a door layout and a 5.5 X14 X8 shelf style.

Hi there! I'm Danylo, and I've been N scaling since I was about 13. I now "play" on the 1:1 trains while I "work" on the 1:160 trains. I moved across the country last year and unfortunately don't have access to a massive layout anymore, so my 50+ car trains don't have a home besides in the boxes i purchased them in.

I'll probably be posting a good portion of my collection here soon, diverting that value into funds to pay for some of my other hobbies (flying and photography) while keeping a solid core of my collection that will fit an eventual home layout.

    Hi, my name is Michael. While cleaning the garage I came upon my ‘hobby shop’ a trove of un-built kits, and kitbash projects that have been stuffed away for over a decade. That inspired me to getting back into model building. Been lurking here for a bit. What I have done to scratch my railroad itch in the years off was to build the DRGW 12th sub-division “The San Juan Extention” in V scale. It is operable in Microsoft Train Simulator and Open Rails. Slim-Rail-Mike is my handle on some V-Scale forums.

Glad they let me on this train.  It's a long way from England.  I might have got mistaken for a hobo.  What do you mean this seat is reserved?  looks empty to me. Oh well then.  Bah, no respect for genius. Where's the bar?

Now were underway, I can get on with all the little projects that make up the great railroad empire in my head 

Looks like a nice place here.  Somewhere a man can obsess, er, enthuse over tiny trains in peace.
Time to finish setting up the lathe and see if I can make something useful.

Hi I'm rail_nut. I have been following The Railwire and passing comments for a number of years. Got started with Lionel 027 and Marx when I was 6 for Christmas, bought some American Flyer equipment to use on a friend's layout (11 or 12) which I still have. Sold the O and switched to HO (13) and then finally to N with a Postage Stamp set in late 60's. Was one of the original members of Montreal N-Trak and operated on a large 50' x 50' modular layout under the tracks into Montreal's Central Station. In the late 70's sold and then manufactured 1=1 railway car parts. Later consulted with BBD on Amtrak Horizon car problem resolutions before transitioning to full time for over 22 years. Returned to consulting after retirement.  Greatest pleasure has been assisting model manufacturers and ensuring that large quantities of Pullman and BUDD drawings ended up at the Illinois Railway Museum.

Spruslayer, do you by chance frequent the Model Car Magazine forum?
TinyTurner, that is a clever name for someone making small turned parts. What lathe(s) do you own?
rail_nut, you sure have some serious railroad and model railroad experience under your belt.  I can't wait to hear more details (and of course your educated opinions).

I used to be into building cars and truck but my fancy turned to trains a couple years ago.
I do still build model cars and trucks but dont visit the MC site very often

I'm also into model cars, trucks, bikes, etc. and model RRs.  I have too many hobbies. 
I guess I should have been more direct.  There is a member in the Model Car Magazine forum with the same user name as yours.  While they last posted there back in 2020, they have last visited as recently as this Monday. I was wondering if that is you, or someone else?

That is me,im also have hobby ADD. Wodworking,building guitars/cigarbox instruments,model cars,trucks,ships,planes,movie monsters,super heros,metal working,i have a mill and a lathe.on top of all that i used to be in weekend warrior band playing war clubs,dive bars and any place else that pay for a band.
Old age has taken out the band hobby but ill still make saw dust,metal shavings, stringed instruments and glue plastice together.

My name is Todd and I reside in Virginia. I recently took up N scale railroading, as it is more of a challenge and I can get more, in less real estate. The lady at the hobby store asked me why I chose N scale as most older guys go with O scale. I looked at her and said "Because I am not compensating for anything."
