Hi everyone,

I'm Rich, and I am a Reading modeler. Well, I suppose I am a Reading, and Pennsylvania logging modeler. I found this place from a link off of Ed K's Conrail1285 site, which I found from Dave Smith's blog(s). I started back into N scale 5 years ago, and most of my stuff has been abortive attempts at small layouts, freight car/loco collecting (and breaking) and structure modeling. I have a half started logging layout on a door in the basement, but I think I am going to pull up the track and start over with a Reading theme. I don't like the idea of scratchbuilding EVERY structure on the layout.

In the real world I am a full time National Guard Operations Sergeant, a part time college student (Graphic Design) and a full time Dad/Stepdad/Husband. I live in Wernersville, PA which is about 10 minutes from Reading, and right on the NS line between Allentown and Harrisburg.

I have been on several boards, AMR, Freerails, Atlas, and the like, but after reading  a few posts here, I felt that this was probably the best place for an N scaler who doesn't take himself too seriously.

Hi! I'm Russ Swinnerton. I signed up here on the advice of Gonzo CR and Ed K. Loving it here so far!
I model Conrail in HO and G scales. I'm also a Director with the Conrail Historical Society, Inc (www.thecrhs.org), not to be confused with the defunct Conrail Technical Society. I'm also a volunteer at the B&O railroad museum as an Engineer.

Glad to be aboard!
Russ

Hey Russ, do you have the keys to 236?  I'm sure I could find a way to make it for a cab ride there... just make sure you have windshield wipers on the inside....  There will be a lot of drooling. ;D ;D

Welcome Rich.  Coming here from Ed's blog via David's Blog implies that you're not half bad :)

Lee-
The 236 is out of service currently due to the air compressor needing work, but I there's talk about getting it done be the end of next year. Here's hoping, because I wanna run that piece soooooo bad.....

John,
Next spring we'll be running the SD35 after it's blue carded. It'll be good times. Too bad I only have 4 coaches to shove around with it...

Rich-
Glad to see another CRHS'er on here. You're coming to the fall convention this year, right? IT'll be my finest hour (I'm the coordinator) Altoona '08 here we come!

Ian,
I'll be in Springfield along with President Kris Klemick and member Brian Saul. I don't know if Sean is going to make it or not. We'll be the ones with the white "Conrail Quality" Chevy Silverado and the Uhaul trailer withthe "Uhaul" painted out with CRHX reporting marks and tom mann style weathering. Stop by and introduce yourself. ROAD TRIP BABY!

I've spent enought time in Altoona. I don't remember much of it though...

Unfortunately I won't be attending anything any time soon. I have a deployment to train up for, and then of course...the deployment.

Introductions... yay, I love intro's!!! My name is Kris Klemick, just another fellow CRHS'er. Been a fan of Conrail for nearly 30 years now, and striving to create a respectable place for her to rest through the years by way of the Conrail Historical Society. I was born twenty years too late, missing all the good years on Conrail and not being able to work for them longer than what I actually did  :-[

You can learn more about me and what we do as an organization at our website, www.TheCRHS.org Glad to be aboard this list I just discovered through Sean and Ed. Hope you all can accept yet one more Blue blood line to the group!

I'll make sure to stop by.  I should have my New England Southern hat on. If you see a black Chevy 1500 with NH plates NEGS103 ( I own trackcar 103) that will be Dupes, Paul (friend from NEGS) and I out and about.

Ian,
We'll see you there! The CRHS owns a track car. It's a Fairmont S2. I can't wait for summer so we can get it running!

Will have to bring that up here and get it running. Join CVRTC and Narcoa too to get that S2 out on the road! Although CRHS should have an A car!

I’ve enjoyed model railroads from as far back as I can recall.  The only problem was I stopped having any real involvement since I was a young teenager.  Now I’m back and really enjoying myself as I learn more and more.  I’ve joined many forums but this one has had a great many member that have been helpful and willing to share knowledge and that’s got me started on weathering (some of you may have seen my first painting post).  I hope I can get to the point that I can be helpful to others.  I enjoy modeling all eras and have not found any particular line that I favor.
