With Kato coming out with a new GG1 I would like to ask how much interest there is in electric locomotives in N.  Would also like to know what other electrics you would like to see made.  Personally I would like a PRR P5 or P5 modified.  Also think that an E33 would be a good choice since Virginian, N&W, New Haven, PC and Conrail all used this.

If someone were to make a Little Joe in plastic I'd be buying a pile.

Of course then I would need GE Boxcabs & ES-2's...

A lot would depend on what catenary structures were available as far as I'm concerned. I was more into electric interurban operation a decade or more ago, but couldn't squeeze one in on my around the room layout. A Baldwin-Westinghouse 80-ton steeplecab would be tempting, though.

Yes, we need electrics!

GN W-1 came across my mind first before I scrolled down to the brass model. Milw Road little Joes, Milw Rd bi polars, GN and Milw Road boxcabs are good canditates I think. Oh yes, Pennsy jackshafts and VGN E-33's too. I am trying to imagine stringing cantenary since I have a hard enough time putting trains on the track.

Even better than big electrics would be small ones. Like 3rdrail said, a small steeplecab or electric boxcab would be great. Best of all would be a decent trolley, just a generic design that would fit most anywhere. The Bachmann Brill and PCC cars are awful. I'd love to add a small electric interurban, even just to come out from behind the backdrop and parallel the main or the highway for a few feet.

I forgot about that one. I've seen brass HO models like you posted come up on ebay and I eat my heart out.

I got small ones on my mind as well . I would get me one of these in a Hummingbirds heartbeat . Or is the pole for signal tripping only ?

    I bought a Brass Little Joe ,Pricey yes, but I had to have atleast one to pully my Railway Classics Olympian Hi. I guess I have always been an Electric Fanzee, I still have a Rapido GG1 the later run with some what better graphics, sold my older one. I will probably order a GN Giant Electric Y1  when it is released in brass. Yes I'am a semi-closet P.R.R. fan having ridden it behind GG1's several times in the late 1950's early 60's when we would go back to visit my dad's parents who lived in Brooklyn. I think a New Haven EP5 would be nice, and I fully agree that little steeple cabs GE or other types like the Yakama Valley loco in the photo are really needed,then I would string wires and model the Sacramento Northern.Currently out on my layout is a KATO "HATO ADOAISHO" passenger train a model of a late 1950's early 1060's era train 12 semi heavyweight cars in a beautiful Mint Green color pulled by an EF58 Electric Locomotive,yes I know it looks weird running with pan up and no catenary on my US western region theamed layout. I will definately sign up for the Kato Broadway, it's the only way to get a Pennsy Budd Tiwn Unit Dining car execpt for scratch building one.                                                                Nate Goodman (Nato). That first one is about 45 Tons GE The local Youngstown & Southern had a couple of them.

You hit the nail on the head with the P5 series. Coming from a company of the likes of Kato, I would easily pre-order 8-10 P5's.

In the PRR-talk/Keystone Crossings annual survey of Pennsy modelers, N scalers put the P5 series as their #1 need... followed by the GG-1!

The YVT Co #297 is a Baldwin-Westinghouse class B-1 construction number 56937 and is/was 50 tons.


The Youngstown and Southern's 101 and 102 are  B-1s also.

Even if was brass and cost a small(large?) fortune, I'd have to buy a Milwakee Road EF-5. Those mosters lasted right up til the end of the Milwakee Raod and they were such dinosaurs, and so darn big!
