Guess you consider the Wisconsin Central an Eastern road as well. I do not. Ontario's a damn big province that stretches well into the center of Canada.

It's still in the Eastern half of Canada, but lets not beat about the bush, it's not about geography at all. It's about some notion some people have that a manufacturer, Kato, should make things that they want. I really don't understand this concept, manufacturers make what sells best, they are in it to make money, so if that's Big Boys, anything in warbonnet or Smokey Bear cars that's what they'll make. If they make something I can use, I consider it a bonus, not a right to mouth off that something else wasn't made.

Sorry I just don't understand it

That's DGLE (dark green locomotive enamel).  Forgive me Kato for all the unkind words I've spoken over the past years.  GG1 and Broadway Limited.  If they sell like I think they will maybe Kato will do even more eastern roads.

No cellar, too close to the water table! ;)

Luckily no flooding here, which is lucky because we are on reclaimed land.

Yeah, it's pretty bad, they are having to hand out bottled water in certain areas, and it could be a few weeks before the normal water supplies can be used again.

Btw you still want those Alps ribbons ?

The was even a GG-1 in British Rail colours, which was trialled in the UK but found to be unsuitable and stored. Some years later it was "rediscovered" in an army storage yard and put back into use for a short period.

It's on the net, so got to be right huh ? Since all of those have PRR numbers they clearly were built for the PRR, not for export, but hey on the net, got to be right.

I've seen photos of the real thing, however as I don't have the book to hand to quote the ISBN I can't tell you which it is.

The reason there are not many photos is because it a hushed up purchase, simple because British Rail was a Nationalised company and it would not have been politic to be seen to be buying foreign locos. IIRC the GG1 was often run as a second loco in consists and at night (another reason for lack of photos).

I would assume the GG1 over in the UK was run only on freight only trackage where there were no station platforms. With a length of nearly 90 feet and a width of 10 ft. 6 inches, I doubt there was a passenger platform in all of Merry England (or Scotland and Wales, either) that would clear a GG1. You'd really have to "Mind the Gap" after a GG1 passed through!  ;D ;D ;D
