Has any one received one of the new run of Shays from M.B. Klein?

No - but then again I didn't order one.   ;D

As of now, they are still not listed on the website, so either (a) they haven't recieved them yet or (b) they haven't had time to unpack them and put them in the system yet.  Personally I'm betting on (b).

Looks like Atlas shipped them on the 10th and other dealers started getting them on the 14th, so MBK probably did too.

If you're expecting one, I'd call/email Shane and ask.

I called them a week or so ago.  They indicated that they have, in fact, received the Shays but will not be sending them out until the new store opens (the middle of June).

I also noticed that they have taken the "in store pickup" off of their website.  I had to have an order sent to me.  I paid over $6 to have it delivered to me 17 miles away.

I will be a much happier customer when the new store opens.

That's BS. Thanks for the heads up. I won't order anything until after they re-open.

Hmmm, wonder why they are not sending out the Shay's or listing them on the website until the new store opens...they are adding other stuff to the website including the Atlas Auto-racks just today.  Strange that they are treating the Shay's different than other stuff.

As for no in-store pick-up; I'd heard about that - no way to do it since there currently isn't a store I guess.  Maybe you can bribe Shane to slip it to you out the side door some evening.   ;D  That issue doesn't effect me too much, I had a 70 mile round trip to Gay Street and it will be more like 110 to Cockeysville; with the current price of gas ($3+/gallon) it's cheaper for me to pay for UPS shipping than to drive there.

I received mine (not from Kleins) and they are much better put together!!

Both are quiet and smooth out of the box and the lights actually are lined up with the lenses so you can see them - and they are much brighter than the previous runs. A big improvement IMNSHO....

Dave, thanks for the info!

Tim, that is also what made me wonder. I have always received my reserved items from Kleins within a few days of the manufacturer shipping date.  I figured the delay was due to the relocation of the store, but then when I saw other recent items being listed on their site and still no shays, I wondered if there was an issue just with them.

FYI - the Shay's are now show in the ModelTrainStuff website.

For those that pre-ordered, I'd assume this means you should be getting shipping notification soon.

And for those that haven't seen it, Walthers has listed what appears to be another run of the first road names, but this time w/DCC.  No price are timeframe listed.

It was news to me. :P

http://www.walthers.com/exec/search?category=&scale=N&manu=&item=&keywords=shay&instock=A&split=30&Submit=Search

I may be interested this time if it is true.

Yeah Jason, I've seen that on Walthers site . It's been up there for a while as an "advance reservation" item. I thought that rather odd because I have not seen any mention of this from Atlas.

I received mine today and I'm pretty ticked.

The lights on this run are nicer, particularly the rear light is much brighter, but my god is the paint thick on these!

As if that isn't bad enough, Klein's hosed me on the price. When I ordered them, they had a reserve price of $119.99, and that is why I ordered through them because they were cheaper there than the other dealers.

I sent them an email about this and they replied "All Shays have been 133.99 since the first run. They retail for 199.95, $119.99 would be dealer
 cost.
"

This is a screen shot of their web page when I placed the order:

I had the same experience with the MBK shays.  I reserved one at 119.99 from their website.  Then I noticed that they were relisted at the $133 price.  I went to Kliens and spoke to Shane personally.  He swore to me that the prices was NEVER $119 and had always been $133.  At that point, I wasn't going to argue with him in the store but, yes, I also will be ripped off by their inept pricing.

BTW, I have not received mine yet.

John, Shane is the one that sent me the email stating the price was always $133.99.
I have tried to send that copy of the web page, but his signature line in his emails states "Please do not send us attachments or forwards they are automatically deleted due to viruses." so I doubt that he will receive it.

Dave, I have saved that entire web page, let me know if you would like a copy.
