MTL Releases for June?

4NScale (Rio Grande Hobbies) has a list on their site of what they say are the MTL releases for June.  They are usually pretty accurate, but this is early even for them....

Link is here: http://www.4nscale.com/products.asp?m=12&t=239

First, there is NO state car this month; the last car (#50 - Delaware) will be released in July.  I wonder if there was a production problem, or if they just want to be symbolic and release in for the 4th of July?

N-Scale
038 00 450      ATSF #SFRB 5932           50' Boxcar          $25.80
111 00 111      CSX #92046                   Encl Autorack     $36.90
111 00 112      CSX #902071                  Encl Autorack    $36.90
078 00 110      Erie #68000                   50' boxcar          $15.95
105 00 590      MKT #12447                  50' gondola         $15.75
024 00 330      Arcade & Attica              40' boxcar          $24.95
077 00 157      Yukon #YT 1898             Canadian #7       $18.25
062 00 040      Rock Island #1176           Comp Gondola    $18.05 (reprint)
092 00 080      BN #435755                    2-BAY ACF        $23.95 (reprint)

No sure of the accuracy; we'll know for sure on Thursday.

That ERIE 68000 sent me scrambling. Seems Atlas issued its 50 double door boxcar as ERIE 67000 a couple of decades ago as part of a series of excellent steam era cars. I got the ERIE and the KCS "Southern Belle". Thought for a minute MTL had duplicated the number...

I have had the Micro-News since the weekend.

The Delaware car is in fact delayed until July.

No scale test car again!?!

I gotta go search for my predictions about this - I think it would be something like 48 years before they get around to N&W.

I'll pick up the Erie car. The "ball" (circle) inside the "square" (diamond) should be black, but I can't tell in the photo if MT got it right. Still it looks good:

I stripped one of these end door boxes and decaled it for Erie back when the body style first came out. Lucky for me my number is different  ;)

I'll pick up a New Haven in Z as well, just don't remind me when you see it running behind steam. The boxcar was painted in 1956 and most of Erie's steam was scrapped around 52-54'.

You've got to wonder what Micro-Trains has against the Erie.  ???  The recent 40 foot boxcar had a black border around the ERIE diamond, which was not on the prototype, now the 50 footer has the "ball" portion of the logo in boxcar red, when it was always black, at least in the steel car era. It's not like these were rare cars and there are few photos out there...

Whassup, doc, er, Eric?
