I painted this Atlas MP15 to look like the Morristown and Erie's #20.

Given that I'm running out of time to get my bridge module ready for the Timonium show (April 14-15), I figured I'd better give up on decorating the bridge and get on with some woodworking. :)

This weekend, I got the frame and legs mostly built, and sat the top and bridge in place for this shot:

I'll update my "ICRR Bridge" thread as soon as I get a chance  to compose something coherent... :)

Your bridge is going to be a real eye catcher Zox.  Well done and thanks for sharing the process.

Hiya.

I posted these pics on the Alas board last week but with a trip to Tokyo and a busy weekend haven't had time to take more progress pics. An old B'mann Consol which was shorn of all its cast-on details and re-detailed with brass wire piping and air tanks. The power reverse was a lotta fun! ;) The chassis is a Micro-Ace that's been modified and re-motored with a Sagami can motor. The original motor couldn't be used cuz it was too large. A ton of work but I'm satisfied with the "good enough" effect. Regards,

All sorts of awesome stuff here tonight!

I love that Reading I10. Those were beastly engines.

Scott, that M&E MP15 is awesome. Of course you know that NOW Atlas will do them...

Oh, and Tom, that sucks.

That M&E MP15 ROCKS!

I began to hand lay some track today. I had decided that I was going to ultra mega super detail my handlaid HO code 55 and 70 track, but the tie plates turned into a nightmare. While they are a kick a$$ product, it is WAY too time consuming, and best left for a small display. It took me 4 hours to lay 8" of track with scale tie plates and scale spikes. After I got that done, I realized that the plates are really not noticeable unless they are painted an exaggerated bright rust color. After weathering they pretty much disappeared. I decided that I was just going to Pliobond the rails to the ties with out the plates, install the joint barrs, and then install 4 scale spikes per tie. Where there will be dedicated areas of interest, I will install the tie plates. But if you ever want to build a running layout, skip the tie plates...its a pain in the a$$!
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Yes... I'm in N... Also HO and 1:1

Tom,

What are you using as a base for your photos? It looks like a mirror sprayed with a matte finish.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

I bought the matte silver acrylic stand available from http://www.tabletopstudio.com/

I've been working on a few things.

Bridges over Flat Swamp on High Rock Lake

...and the WSS over I-85.

I think that only happens south of here....around Atlanta.

Actually, NC roads have went to crap thanks to our wonderful Governor. Head south, and as soon as you cross into SC, you see the difference.
