What would you do?

I have a bunch of custom painted (by me) Kato C44-9W shells in NS dashed frame stripe scheme. Pretty darned good job if I do say so myself. I also have a bunch of Kato CSX and CP AC4400's bought to donate frames to the shells.

Would you sell the locos as whole on Ebay and hope Kato does correct C40-9's in NS sometime in the next year or so?  Or sell the other RR shells on Ebay and make my own fleet of C40-9W's???

Unless
you have secret insider Kato information selling on the chance they may produce ANYTHING within any given 18-24 month window is a losing wager.  Look at the gap since the last GP38-2, SD45 or U30C production.  Anything in your hands that works beats the possibility of a re-run from Kato...

Since Kato's needle seems to be stuck on BNSF and predecessors with an occasional excursion into Uncle Pete, I'd peddle the Western road shells on eBay and "roll my own". Unless, like NandW, you feel you can wait 374 years!!  ;D ;D

I've often thought about dumping my four CN and one undec. C44-9W's in hopes that (considering the numbers of these that GE sold... especially to BNSF) Kato might actually re-run them. However, I'd rather have these five than none.

Maybe if we all model BNSF, Kato might do eastern roads instead?

I missed the initial run of the CN units during my hiatus from the hobby and had to play catch up at the flea markets or TASTWDMH.
Since the C44's are my favourite CN motive power, I also had 4 more custom painted for me.
You can't wait for modelling companies to decide when they feel like doing a run of something. Especially for us Canadians - they don't throw bones to us very often.
