I just looked at the ad again....I'd missed the "alcohol" first time!  Must have been looking at something else  ;D

It's not alcohol .. its apple cider ..

Sorry can't use that one..here cider is used exclusively for the alcoholic apple drink... ;)

While your ad was not that bad, as in raunchy, it is riding the line between standard product advertising and the raunchy.

Craig I like you and all, but I have to agree with the poster on the Atlas forum, this is defintely riding the line of being raunchy.  What's next a wedding scene and instead of throwing rice they are throwing grab irons, or worse, you see a young couple holding their baby which is actually a N scale engine dolled up in BLMA parts?

that ad raunchy?.. and i guess Heros is not a breath of fresh air for NBC.

HAHA nice Lee! I like that one!

For those of you using the word "raunchy"...you may want to pick another word as the BLMA ads are FAR from it....and I'm not talking FCC BS regulations standards

I think they are kick a$$ ads. Better than stupid "choo choos" or the ever standard "RR crossing signal" that you find in many. Thats kinda why I like Backyard Flyer, or Internet Retailer mag....nice "edgy" ads, with plenty of hotties.

I very seldom wander over to the A-board but I had to check
to see what all the wining was all about the BMLA ad.
I have reached the conclusion that there are some people who
spend wat too much time on that forum and worry about
some dumb @$$ thing like a magazine ad.
HEY ! GET A LIFE !
It seems us RW's have our feet on the ground; we have wives
(and some very good looking ones at that)
famlies, jobs other intrests and hobbies, and the list goes on...
I recieved the April RMC in the mail today; I found the ad to be
well done and not at all offensive.
I think the odds of a group of beautiful women discussing
N-scale concrete road crossings at a party is about the same
as being attacked by a shark in the desert.
The ad is directed at us "train people" to get a good laugh
and think about the product when we need a road crossing
or when we see BMLA products at a show or hobby shop.
As far as I am concerned, IT WORKS!!
To BMLA, keep up the good work, you can't take this or any
hobby too seriously.
And to the A-board poster who shall remain nameless
(and clueless) GET A LIFE !!!!!!!!!

OK, thats my 3 cents worth;

What I find offensive are those radio ads where there are two idiots jabbering back and forth about one product or another... you know, an impossible or just plain stupid conversation. That is offensive advertising.

The BLMA ad? I was surprised that there actually are women out there who are interested in the BLMA crossings... let along give them as shower gifts  ;)

I didn't even notice the booze, but now that it has been mentioned, I think I need a drink.

My wife was discussing the BLMA ad (along with all of the dust that was getting blown up on the Atlas Board) over drinks last night with her friends. That's pretty close right? - But it was more to point out how like little boys we model railroaders really are.
