These three photos of the Korean National Railways in the early 1960's were taken by my childhood friend, Jim Coon, who unfortunately passed away at age 52. He took them when a 2nd Lieutenant in the Transportation Corps.

It was crappy out today, but warm. So I took some photos:

First this is on my street where I take all my Hot metal car photos. A SD50-2 with 2 dump cars and a backhoe on a flat, been sitting here idling for a week now:



This is just a small part of the rolling mills I pass on my way to work every day. PRR / NS in foreground:



Behind the rolling mills are the blast furnace area. This is a general view:

I didn't know they were empty, but I was just guessing. The blast furnace is on one side, then cross the bridge in the video to the rolling mills. I figured they had just poured the hot metal and were running it to the other side to make coils out of it.
