Didn't the LIRR C420's have high adhesion trucks? Might that make production problematic? Frank

Long Island C-420s 200-221 (12/63-7/64) had Swing Bolster Drop Side Equalizer trucks (so called "AAR type B").

Units 222-229 (8/68) had the hi-adhesion trucks.

I think it would be great if Atlas made the Hi-Adhesion trucks so that it would be easier to make other possible future models.

Don't think Atlas will, they did not make the right truck for the CV RS-11s.

It's still an AAR B though... sans brake cylinders and a different style damper.
The lightweight version truck has a single brake cylinder mounted internally instead of the two external one normally expects.  The most telling feature though is there are no leaf springs on the truck!

That would be what I called the damper... there's still one there (otherwise the unit would rock off the tracks), it's just not a large leaf spring.
The lightweight trucks were noted for riding rough and were not well liked by crews.
