                    try using strips of styrene as internal braces. make sure they are thick. use car length strips, and use a thick CA glue to create bonds. use clothespins or small 1" c-clamps to hold the ends together. let it sit overnight to cure. if some glue seeps through to the outside of the car, it's ok. that will fill in any cracks. mask off the areas that need to be filled with painter's tape, and add putty to the seams that are open. (use squadron white putty, since it is a gray car). after it all dries and cures, sand it gently with 1500 grit finishing paper, until the finish is uniform to the rest of the car. you may want to prime the car with floquil primer gray, since it has tiny "filler" capabilities. try this for the bottom of the car too. good luck!

I'm a big fan of the Loctite gel super glue. Works very well, thick, and easy to control.......Plus less of my fingers get stuck together...

Which means the ''B'' plate is smaller width and lenght wise than the ''C'' plate.

When you use your putty/filler make sure you use a primer color that will be close too your finished color. The putty tends to be porous and will show right through.
Also use as little as possible makes sanding easier and don't use it dry, Right out of the tube it's generally separated so mix the hell out of it.

Don't ''over clamp'' the joints as the CA may soften the surrounding area.

Thats the spirit, Keep on experimenting. The only way to find out what works
is finding out what doesn't.

Jeff wet sanding allows the fine particles to be moved off with out a drag on
the surface. The water kinda makes a layer between paper and the sanding
surface.
Dry sanding would leave scratches or sanding marks.

Re patch your sides, re-sand the areas with a finer grit and if you can try some
of that synthetic material Testors has it in a multi pack it has a extremely fine
piece in it that should do just fine.

Get yourself some finer sandpaper, like 600 grit. I think they make down to 1500 grit if you're looking for something ultra-fine. Start with something like your 220 and work your way down to get a really smooth finish.
