Raildog was right in the other thread.

I was referring to Iron Chef (and consequently, Iron Chef America) on the Food Network.

So no limit on roadname, type of car, era, etc.?

No penalties if I'm wrecking a PC car (and I don't mean politically correct, either!)????

I might even be able to play in this one.

Okay, I'd like to play along this time. (Even  know I'll get my head kicked in) :o.
But I can't remember the basic rules.
1. Do I need to be prototype and have a photo?
2. Weathering only or modify car as needed too?
3. Do I eMail every thing to Ed when done?
4. When is the dead line to finish?

In case Ed went to bed and you want to know tonight, here's my guess at the answers:
1) The challenges now are BYOP (Bring your own Photo) so yes, you need both a photo and a prototype (otherwise you wouldn't have a photo of it).
2) Both, the challenge is 'match the picture best'
3) damnifIknow, I've only ever posted my finished car to the thread of the 31st/30th (the last day of the month). I guess Ed gathers everything up to post on a new thread. Of course now with BYOP, you'll need to post 2 pictures, the prototype and your weathered car.
4) mumble (Thirty days hath September....) umm, the 31st, right?

He got the answers right! Gold star!

Just post your entry up here. You win points in my book (not the contest) if you make it really easy for me to just "quote" your entry in the voting thread.

Good luck!! I'd love to see your work.

This month, it shall be Battle Gondola!

ok, can someone please explain to me what a Battle Gondola is, thank you...   ??? ???

Like Iron Chef on Food Network.. Luckly for you guys it's not Battle Chicken or Battle Squid.. How about Battle Reefer? That would sure get the DEA excited during a Google search.

Hi Blokes,
We have our Big annual Model Railway Exhibition on the 3rd, 4th, 5th of
June, I`m afraid I`ve let the time run away on me over this Month in
preparation for this, Therefore, I reckon I`ll never finnish my Gondola in
the time allowed.
Sorry Ed, and Blokes,
Next Month for sure.
Good Luck to al of you others in your quest,

John.

Wrong Guilford Guy,
It`s the commitment to the hobby that counts and I for one think you`ve
done yourself proud, Keep at it.

Guilford guy: not bad. Just remember, whether you're 13 or 30, you're first weathering job usually isn't that great, and you'll get better with practice. You've got lots of time to improve your techniques. :)

My first "weathering" job was when I was a little closer to your age, using scraped up brownish coloured chalkboard chalk on my train set cars. The results were somewhat unimpressive and collected fingerprints really quick. I haven't really gotten around to trying my first real paint job yet, although I have been building lots of kits and doing some modifying/scratchbuilding of things too.

Like Centauri says, it's your committment that will count the most in terms of learning and improving, not your age. I know lots of older guys who

I did the same at about the same age. I know keep saying this, but LEARNING is a constant doing this, & I see much more promise with your gon than my work when I was your age.
Who knows? keep learning, practicing (& have fun at it!) & maybe down the road your work will blow us all away, & we'll all be bugging you for your techniques!

Keep up the good work, & we'll look forward to seeing more of your efforts!  ;)
