Ah. But technology fixed that for us yet again. A couple outfits have started to get full color resin printers. I doubt the color detail will be up to snuff but I forsee a couple guys out there offering Autorack filler packs of year accurate vehicles sometime soon.

I bet a color 3D printed 'autorack filler pack' would cost upwards of $200, for a bilevel.

3d printing is a good alternative with respect to getting the exact vehicle prototypes you want, not really by any other criteria.

so, Athearn just killed the autoracks. 

Unfortunately, Athearn did not receive enough pre-orders to justify the cost of production and as a result, we have elected to cancel these models. The models that will not be produced are as follows:
