While searching for something else I came across this from 2022.  Unfortunately it didn't age well.  :(  I wonder what happened to throw off the schedule?

Anything less than 10 years is a win for Broadway Limited.

I'm no fan of BLI, but I will give the 3751 a good look.

From the January 2025 Broadway Flyer newsletter:

Quote
Q: "Just me being antsy, but we need a 'State of the N Scale' update. I keep hearing about a lot of N scale stuff in the works!" - Shane on Facebook

A: We do have a lot of ideas for N scale. We are currently wrapping up the UP Kenefick designs for N scale and are also working on a few diesels, including the SD45, GP30, and GP35. Additionally, we have several N scale steam locomotives planned, but we have not yet begun the design process for those.

Oh no, why on Earth would they spend time on the -30 or -45 when that field is super-crowded already?  Why not play to your strength and expand the SW series models???

Exactly, we need SW1200/1500 desperately.

Sigh, the PRR M1 delivery date was pushed back again, this time until September.

The QC issues they mentioned must have been big ones. That delay's enough for a whole re-design and re-run.

Yeah, originally this new run was supposed to arrive in October 2024, so this project has been delayed for an entire year.  Not sure why they would have QC issues when this loco has been built before by BLI, the only thing that should be new is the electronics.
