I would trust what CV8 reads on the programming track.  And judging by which reset procedure worked, it's a decoder is made by Lenz.  I guess, while Lenz made that decoder, it branded it as Atlas (127). Makes sense since it was a factory installed decoder.  Maybe Cory doesn't remember that those Lenz-made decoders were branded as Atlas in CV8.

Hi  You might try setting one of the engines to run in reverse- this is in the programming area for the decoder.  In an NCE PowerCab, this is in the setup area, in a LokProgrammer, it is in the driving characteristics area.  The CV is 29 in all cases.  If you read the CV29 value and add 1, it should reverse the sense of direction.  See the NCE website, TCS website or other sources for the coding of CV29.

As I understood the earlier post, the problem was with the way the consist was created within the command station. The decoder was not at fault.  But yes, the direction bit in CV29 can be used to reverse the direction of the loco (both motor and headlights).
