Kato PRR Corrugated Passenger Train Set

Is the Kato PRR Corrugated Passenger Train Set C part of a name train set or just a 4 car set?

They no longer have it on their site and all info I find is just for ebay listing or websites that just gather items for sale from eBay Amazon etc.

It was a standalone set, not a name train add on.

The only Kato PRR corrugated sets I know of were based on CB&Q prototypes  (but distinct from the later released California Zephyr sets), and done in a variety of paint schemes.  In general, they are often not bad stand ins for early Budd cars. 

That said, IIRC, PRR interchanged sleepers with the CB&Q California Zephyr, and purchased a few sleepers that are very similar or identical to the Kato corrugated 10-6 from those early sets.  I also recall seeing a fairly convincing (but I am not saying accurate to prototype) model of an early South Wind consist, perhaps 20 years ago, that utilized the Kato coaches from those sets.

Yes, they are decent stand ins for early Budd cars built for the PRR (coach, baggage, rpo, diner are most reasonable).  Even better if you do the early paint scheme with all the stripes.  I like the Southwind concept, especially with the streamlined K4's from Bachmann now. 

The 10-6 from the four car sets is a later Budd car, and a later order of cars for CB&Q.  It has more aisle windows than the PRR Silver Rapids 10-6 which Kato did correctly in their California Zephyr series.
