There are several non-sound DCC drop-in boards for the current Atlas Silver series ESU sound ready locos including: - ESU LokPilot 54650 https://store.sbs4dcc.com/ESU54650LokPilotV4.aspx - Digitrax DN166I3 https://store.sbs4dcc.com/DigitraxDN166I3Series6DCCDecoder.aspxHope this helpsCheers
I appreciate that Tim, thank you, DCC is sorcery to me. My one issue is that I cannot seem to find a picture of the underside of the DCC boards, as the Atlas DC board has four front facing LED's, one on top and three underneath. Cannot verify if they are so equipped. Some pics of the factory board:https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=55061.msg759213#msg759213
The ESU decoders described in https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=54278.msg744107#msg744107 have the LEDs arranged like that.
@peteski has already covered the ESU.The Digitrax documentation shows each end of the decoder has one LED on top, and one LED on the underside: https://www.digitrax.com/media/apps/products/mobile-decoders/dn166i3/documents/DN166I3_rev.0.pdfI prefer the ESU, but you could still do non-flashing ditch lights with the Digitrax decoder (which is appropriate for CN GP40-2Ws anyway).Cheers
