Wonder what America's railroad companies are planning for the upcoming Semiquincentennial?

Those look really sharp! Did you paint them?

These are all factory paint jobs (the Milw is a Kato Kobo edition).  I did add weathering to the Milw and BN unit.

I finished up my WC rig. Hopefully I’ll get the load done this weekend
(Attachment Link)
I really like how you did the tires, the tread has a different color than the sidewall - as it should. Very nice.

Ran trains on July 4th and of course Southern Pacific's Bicentennial trio made an appearance.

Ryan:  Good enough!  Thank you!

I saw all of the BN units, one at a time, in Pasco, but none of the other roads.  The MILW came through occasionally on detours, but I didn't see their Bicentennial unit.

The GP40P-2 N scale?  If so can you give some specifics?

The SP GP40P-2 is one of my earliest molding projects when I was Jim's N-Scale Shells, back in the early nineties. I don't remember too much, but I used the Kato GP38-2 as the basis. I know its on a stretched RS-3 chassis, I cannot recall why I didn't stretch a GP38 chassis. It pre dates the Atlas GP35. It has scratch built walkways and brass handrails.

Great modelling.  Thank you for the reply.

Norm Wright wrote an article on stretching a RS-3 frame.  RS-3 frame would be easier to secure and cut than a Kato GP 38/50 frame.  No other mfg GP pulls like a GP38/50

Yes, those were probably last N scale locos made using frame made from some sort of lead alloy. Seemed bit harder than pure lead, but it was quite dense.  They were/are great pullers (with no traction tires).

Come to think about it, I'm sure the difficulty in stretching the original Kato GP38-2 chassis was certainly my reason for going with the RS3 chassis. The delrin plastic walkways setup would have been very difficult to stretch without visible seams, if not impossible.

I have a couple of loads I bought that use the the chartpak tape, but didn't like how bulky it looked, and the adhesive tended to let go after a while.
Just some "food" for thought!

I have to agree with the chartpak tape. Here is the finished load.  I am going to search for better alternative for the binding. I'll also look at your "pop tart" solution. Give me an excuse to buy some!
