Kato USA - the part store is up and running.

Looks pretty good at first glance.

It's still incomplete it looks like. I ordered parts for an ALC-42 and took a chance with no pics of what I ordered, and I didn't get what I needed to complete it. I ended up calling them, and once talking to the person, he realized that not all the parts are listed on the website and that I would be better off waiting until September to try again. He mentioned someone was on vacation and another was in Japan.

Still looks like both versions (red sill vs white sill) of the under body detail piece are missing from the website, he found the piece I was looking for, but no price for it. No snow plow as well.

Maybe I'll give it a couple days and email or call them and try again.

Some days, I just ask for punishment when I pick up these little projects for a "steal" on eBay to rebuild back to new. This one seems to be it for the moment from the moment it arrived in the mailbox.

Attempting to model a modern Southern Pacific based in 2015/2016...

Also, I have a passenger train addiction...

While still not complete, the new parts site looks quite usable.  I like how they grouped the parts by the model (even though many parts fit multiple models). Good job Kato!

Haha, truth. Like my "cheap NW2 project" that ended up probably costing as much as a new BLI unit by the time all was said and done.

Hey, you're the one that asked for the headlight housing and horns!     :D

Sometimes I do it way too often! I think my worst was an E5 shell, that originally I was gonna steal a chassis I dont use, then had a change of heart. By the time I found another chassis, the trucks and everything else, I think I ended up close to the actual MSRP and could have bought it cheaper.

You win some, you lose some. Sometimes I think I just like the challenge.
