Otter Valley Railroad hobby shop has announced a CN transfer van and a National Steel CAR 60' ingot flat car in HO scale.

The transfer van is an interesting choice, and supports my theory that they're running out of prototype's to do in HO. I remember seeing them as a 7yo kid on the Uxbridge Sub local that worked down from the York Sub as far south as the Scepter plant between Lawrence and Ellesmere. Be very early 80's, and they performed a flying switch to run around the train to go north. That move stood out to 7yo me, as did the M-420 that was on the train once, and those funny little transfer vans it used once or twice. Funny what you remember as a kid.

Unfortunately that 1:87 van it too big for my 1:160 use, lol.

They were used here on PEI but I suspect it was close to abandonment with shorter runs being the norm.

Standard on CN vans, flangers and plows. CP used something similar.
