First of all, I don't post much but I do like to see and admire other member's work. I was talking with a club member at a recent train show I attended, and he was looking for a Nakatomi Building from the movie Diehard. The actual building is Fox Plaza in Los Angeles. With my amateur expertise, I figured I would see what I could do about an N scale Nakatomi Building. So far, 3-1/2 weeks of evenings designing, 142 hours of printing, 2 kg of resin. My build plate on the printer is 80mm x 132mm x 165mm. I had to design it in pieces to get any size that is nominal. 17 parts. My design glues together at 130mm x 130mm x 22-1/2" tall. Plus, probably another 1/4" to 1/2" after adding the safety rail around the helicopter pad. It is as tall as the top of the antenna on the Atlas two section hexagon building. The last pic is prime painted. I have to look at paint colors and figure out which one is "salmon pink" for the granite sections. The windows are supposed to be gray tint but I'm going with blue because all of the pics I have found show the windows reflecting the blue sky. I'm leaning toward painting the windows. I was originally going to use some blue vinyl adhesive backed sheets from "that hobby place" but I'm afraid they will start to come loose with age. I am now working on the drop off canopy design. Going with the rectangular canopy instead of the semi-circle opposite side entrance. I am going to set it next to a street because the rear circle driveway would take up a good chunk of layout real estate. No, it is not exactly the correct size down from the original, but it is a good representation. I'm happy with it. By the way, the building can be made taller in 5" increments by adding more of the second level sections. Check out the pics.
