Protocol For Selling Off DCC-Equipped Locomotives?

I've been doing DCC for 10 years now. But I've never sold a locomotive of mine that was already DCC-equipped. For most DCC users, there will be custom settings like speed curves/speed matching parameters, CV 3/4 momentum and other settings tailored for the current user. But if you're selling off a DCC locomotive, do you sell it with the decoder settings as-is? Or do you reset the decoder since the new user will have their own settings anyway?

I'm thinking of thinning the herd to make room for newer units and am wondering if there's an informal protocol with regard to decoder settings for selling off DCC-equipped locomotives.

I personally would reset it to factory default settings, and then make sure it runs on address three -- you never know what the experience is of the person buying it ..

I usually set the DCC address to the cab number and leave acceleration, deceleration, and momentum on minimum levels.
I also make up "cheat sheets" (stopping distance from full throttle, grade crossing horn distance at several throttle settings, speed at given throttle settings, map of function buttons) its a 3"x5" card that I make up for operators to carry for operations sessions.

Haven't sold one that I haven't provided some end user support for.
