I fixed the light bleeding issue by putting some black paint in the crack.

Easy ?  Yes. But no fix should be necessary.

YMMV

Mine was DOA out of the box (no lights, no sound, no motor). Jeremy at Rapido suggested that I remove the shell and verify that the decoder hadn't come loose during shipping, so that's what I did. And although the decoder didn't seem loose to me, pushing down on it did indeed get the thing running. Kinda strange.

I was wondering if there are any extra lighting features on the rebuilt version that I don't have on my as-built version? I have headlight, backup light, ditch lights and numberboard lights.

Thanks,
-Mark

Thanks, is that controlled by a separate function or just F0?

By the way. If you decide to remove the trucks, they are near impossible or at least extremely difficult to put them back on. I had to send mine in to warranty after breaking the driveshaft trying to put them back on.

This was after I tried to clean the contacts to improve the electrical conductivity

Yeah, I am not a fan of this trend towards difficult / impossible to remove trucks. But I think I've whined enough about that already, lol.

For those that have a sound equipped model, is there a way to disable the bell sounding with F2?

Edit: nevermind

Is it possible to install a keep alive or similar product into these locomotives?
