Programming and cleaning track power source

Depends on cleaning method. I tilt the loco up on one truck with a alcohol- or contact cleaner-moistened paper towel on the track and lower the other truck into the towel. Works best at higher throttle settings because of the load. Quick and (less) dirty.

Yeah I have some molex connectors but I wish I could find those mini barrel connectors.  Simple one small barrel per wire and disconnect was easy.  The molex all seem to come in pairs with a larger housing.  I have some of those tamiya molex type connectors so I will probably go with them if I can't find those barrel connectors I saw.

TBH, I have not had any need or looked for that type of single-conductor connector.

At the risk of getting down-votes    I'll again dish out some "peteski wisdom": Why not use one of the many available multi-pin connectors?  Seems easier and simpler to have a single 2-pin connector to connect and disconnect than having to connect one wire at a time.   While power Poles provide the ultimate flexibility (since you can use them as single pin connector, or semi-permanently gang multiple pins), they seem to be a bit too much for your need, but there are many other smaller connectors (like the Molex ones Mike mentioned).  I would just go with that.  Actually, to me those Tamiya/Kato ones seem like a perfect solution (especially since you already have them).

Yeah in thinking about it yesterday I will probably go with the powerpoles since I already have them too.  I found some of the single barrel molex connectors at mcmaster-carr but at almost $10 a pop I'll pass.  If I go to the tamiya plugs I'll have to redo the current ends on both the lokprogrammer and sprog since I use powerpoles to connect them into a portable layout and I don't want to have to redo that.
