I was visiting/helping out on my buddies O scale layout today and he brought up Tangent telling O scalers to be on the lookout for new products from them.  I highly doubt many are going to be paying attention to this

I buy a decent amount of Tangent HO but that O scale price is beyond insane 😳 wow 😳😳

This made some waves on the P:48 group.  Great to see Tangent doing O-scale and a P:48 option, but the era and brass/price makes it a no-go for me.

I mean, they are literally museum pieces, but man you’ve really, really got to want one.
Are there other two rail O or P:48 cars of this quality?

A previously unavailable, common, car, in high quality brass?  That doesn't seem out of line.

I probably wouldn't buy one, as there are no freight cars I need that badly.  But it would probably sell.

Judging by some of the autos I see driving around my neighborhood, there are quite a few people with so much money that they’d shrug off a $500 model.  Not me though.

They may look like they’re swimming in cash, but after seeing the way that many couples lived in the divorce cases that I handled, you might be surprised to learn that even people with generous salaries are often living beyond their means.  In other words, instead of loaded with cash, they may actually be stymied in debt.

If you account for inflation, brass N scale freight cars from 20 and 30 years ago easily cost $125. The Pecos River Brass tankcars, covered hoppers and stock cars; the Key milk cars; the Precision Scale milk cars; various cabooses. If the model is of a specific esoteric yet popular prototype that stands little chance of ever being tooled, then absolutely modelers will pay a premium to have it. I have Borden milk cars (plural) from Key and a covered hopper from PRB, along with brass Pennsy N5C and N8 cabin cars and a New Haven class NE2 caboose. Not to mention passenger and motive power equipment.

I remember my $$$ boss once told me he owed 30K on credit cards. I laughed so hard at him. And one time I found his pay stub on the floor and even though his salary was much much more than me, his check was less than mine. I looked at all the deductions and he had 3 outstanding 401k loans coming out of his pay. 

Oh yeah he goes to Disneyland in Florida every single year...
