Reno National N Scale Convention Planning

Hey Everybody!

The crew is working hard on the Reno extravaganza to get ready for opening registration on January 1. (Official convention dates June 14-17), and the show is coming together quite nicely.

We are working with NRail to coordinate the layouts, and their master planner has asked if there is enough interest to bring out the "Spine" which connects up to 5 loops on one continuous "Red Line Route". This concept was pioneered by NVNtrak, and has been used at a number of large layouts including Chantilly and San Diego. What Carlos needs to know is how many clubs are interested in taking a part of a loop, or a full loop so that he can plan the layout and the NSE crew can plan enough space to accommodate. So- if your club is interested, feel free to pop us an email, as we would really like to see everyone come and make a rather large layout for the event.

Of course we also want to have Ttrak and Freemo-N set ups as well. All three proved very popular in Nashville, and we want to keep the energy flowing.

It may seem like early days, but not so early if you have to plan for time off, or indeed lay out the floor at one of these events. Love to have your participation! Preliminary information is at https://www.nationalnscaleconvention.com/

Best-

Reno is within striking distance! And a nice drive across Oregon and the Modocs to get there and a nice drive in the Sierra Nevadas can follow, so I can make this a family outing.  Excellent!

This might have to be a vacation next year. Many positives to go i.e Lake Tahoe, NSE convention, and my sister lives in Reno so it would be good to visit her. Gonna have to talk the wife into this one.

Definitely going to this one! Yosemite NP isn't too far away, Lake Tahoe, and lots of trees and mountains!

I think I'll go. I'm a Z Scaler, but there is so much cool stuff to do in and around Reno, and it's only a 7 hour drive from Boise. I want to visit the WP Museum in Portola, drop a few coins at the Casino's, and maybe I'll build model for display.
If you see it, get it, for tomorrow it may be gone!
Oh, and most importantly...NEVER do today what can safely be sloughed off till tomorrow!

I’m strongly considering going. It’s not a bad drive from my place. Maybe some of the other saw Washington FreemoN team would split a trailer with me.

That’s a 25 hour drive for us since I absolutely refuse to fly anywhere now that I’m retired. The last couple of flights I had to take for business were absolutely miserable given the seats getting narrower and legroom even more restricted. I’m too thrifty (cheap, tight) to pay for 1st class, so we do road trips.

Tempting, but probably not since it will likely conflict with the Texas 200 sail/cruise.

I'll have to see, I'd like to go as its not too long of a drive from Vegas, but I also am trying to get a new job and relocate back to the Pittsburgh area this next summer.
