Serious question: For those who want resistor-equipped wheelsets for signal systems, how hard would it be to make the insulator from conductive plastic? We use such a plastic at the auto filter factory where I work, to prevent static buildup in a diesel filter housing. It give a resistance of around one MOhm, too high for signal systems, but there are other such resins with lower resistances.Since all of the insulators are identical, the resistance should be at least as accurate as commercial resistors, and those (like me) who don't have a signal system would never notice the difference.
I was really curious to see what this was about too as I'm yet to run across an ESM wheelset that isn't perfect.
You scared me, you %#@)(*@$%!!!
I aim to please! lolBut consider it payback for me having to do a tiny bit of extra work, lol.
I would like to try them, but the listed dealer for Germany doesn't have them.
