BLW Damaged Depot

The selfish part of me doesn't want anyone to know about my experience with Pete's (BLW) damaged depot as I want first dibs, but I owe it to him to share. :) I have made three or four purchases of multiple "damaged" locos. I have received many of them in perfect running condition. I don't know what was supposedly damaged. I have received a few in which it was a simple fix to realign the motor contacts with the light boards. One had the well known cracked universal on the drive shaft of Atlas locos. Finally, today I received a brandy new loco. What was the damage?  The case did not have a lid and that was it.

So, I would appreciate everyone giving me first dibs on each damaged depot release and I will let you know when I am done shopping!!  :ashat: Seriously though, I wouldn't hesitate to jump on these "damaged" goods. I, for one, think Pete deserves our support.

I got a MoPac loco that way. And agree - its the best scratch and dent sale around.

I got an Atlas S-2 with sound for about $100. It wouldn’t run. Reset the decoder to factory settings and it was good to go. They are great deals if you’re not too risk adverse.

After seeing the magic that Ron Bearden has worked with recalcitrant brass locos, I think we can all be less risk averse.
