Magnetic Build Plates

Absolutely.  I love my new plate.  It took the machine out of circulation for three days while the magnetic base set on the original build plate, but it's been a night and day difference having a spring steel base plate that flexes.  The parts simply slide off after the suction is broken.  No more need for drafted thicker rafts.

You lose 2mm of Z-height, but it's worth the sacrifice.

@narrowminded ...I have this one by Micro Mark and it does work BUT....not very happy with the 3 piece magnets that tend to lean over

Hahah…Lol.  Not what he meant by magnetic build plate.

Absolutely worth it but if you print large heavy items then you should probably not. I use one all the time on my SM4k.
A plus is you can use a metal window scraper with straight razor and not munge up the plate. Steel is hard.
I will say you need to sand it though or you will have adhesion issues.

very worth it,  The one that I have been using is from whambam 3d.    they make them for several systems and are worth every penny.    used them for the photon and for a couple of FDM printers.  I have been using them for more than a year and have not had any issues to date    google them and you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the feedback, all.  I don't have any heavy prints I do, at least this far.  I guess I was looking for responses that were more on the why not to side before to jump in. The idea seemed good and it appears that folks' experience proves that out.  I think I will be trying these.
