I've also discovered that the Blackstone C19's behave nicely enough to add a third locomotive and another 15 cars to the end of the train, without bunching, dragging, or derailing.

Great video, it looks amazing!
I've also discovered that the Blackstone C19's behave nicely enough to add a third locomotive and another 15 cars to the end of the train, without bunching, dragging, or derailing.
And just think how common 'dummy' locos used to be. Some folks would even gut steam engines of their motors and gears to make dummies out of them. DCC, I guess, ended that problem and now folks are using as many locos as they want.
I've never doubleheaded anything as my trains aren't long enough to merit doing so and the real RR I model never did so. Heck, i wouldn't even know how to consist power on my DCC even if I wanted to!

D&RGW in the '60s between Farmington, NM and Alamosa, CO would often be that long, but that was mainly because they were trying to move as much stuff in as few movements as possible (in an era before that became commonplace). They might have as many as 4 K-class 2-8-2s in such a consist.

Oh, I should have been more clear.  I meant model narrow gauge train length, which was part of the reason for my compliment.  Sorry for any confusion.
