LOL!  Oh come on Steve, as much as it pains me to admit it, Bachmann has generally improved its models quality in the recent years.  :)

Thanks Pete for the info. I have a question for you, or anybody else, and it is B'mann parts related.

I have an old, non sound, version of an EM-1 that I need a complete front engine. Don't ask why, I caused it.
So naturally they have nothing for the old version, however they do have a front engine for an "EM-1 Sound" version and their sheet states these parts will not fit the non sound version. My question is: did they totally re-design all of the chassis for the sound version or are they just wanting to sell more complete sound versions? ? I am about ready to order one just to see why it would not fit. I contacted B'mann and was told we will never see those parts ever again (for the original version). Not sure they know for sure either way.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Be well,
Carl

Sorry, I can't help out on this question.  Even Spookshow does not mention what the differences are between the versions, which is surprising as he usually covers the differences.

I’d give my left something or other for a couple pairs of commonwealth trucks from the Hudsons, but sadly still none in stock   :(

Bachmann has come a long way. I have a dozen Bachmann DCC sound equipped locos. They run as well as the 1 Atlas I just acquired. Atlas has better sound, more detail...but you can’t beat Bachmann value. I acquired all 12 for only half as much, in some cases 1/3 the cost of the Atlas.

Bachmann F7, Detailed added myself.... under $100

Appreciate the heads up.  I was being somewhat tongue in cheek before. I model diesels not steam and in n scale only, so my experience has been on their n scale diesels only. Anyhow, I will keep an open mind on future purchases.  Very Nice Looking loco BTW, HO scale I’m assuming.

Locos, maybe, but who does their freight cars...it's almost as if they come from a different company lately, and their pricing?🙀
