ESU V5 'Kato Japan' decoder install

Hi All

I figured someone here would find this quick video of the new V5 'Kato Japan' decoder useful.

I hacked this together pretty quickly, and it's a preproduction sample.  No idea when they'll be available to the general public, but I would imagine soon.

After some thinking and some discussion on the book of faces with Rick Brodzinsky I think I'm going to add a separate mars light since there's an extra function and get rid of the (what I feel is) awful orange LED's.

Anywhoo...enjoy!   :)

Kelley.

Kelley,

This thread was for my 73800 install (on my own unit), but you can see how I do the light board.  I’ve thought about making a custom board, so I don’t need the little soldering board, but I only get asked to do maybe one per year, so have stuck with the styrene.

I’m excited about this new Kato-Japan board more for the Japanese models a couple of my regulars have asked for sound installed.  Of course, not every Kato Japanese train takes the EM13.
